RCA Athletic Mission: To provide meaningful activities that develops (Values of Life) sportsmanship, leadership, teamwork, commitment, responsibility, respect, and pride in our community through participation on a team.

Recently, Athletic Director Johnny Allen sent this letter to RCA Patrons:

Dear RCA Family,
God’s timing is always amazing. This past year, many of you know the RCA Board of Advisers met to decide the direction of our Athletic Program. Their decision to remain with the TSSAA Division II was not an easy one, but as they viewed this decision through the grid of our mission and values, it became a relatively clear decision. It is our Athletic Mission and Core Values that will be the determining factor of success within our program and for our athletes.
Our first responsibility always involves a focus on the mission which God has given to us, not on the decision being made by others. We do not need to compare, criticize, or condemn the direction that other schools may take. It is vital that we maintain a clear definition of mission. We cannot afford to make decisions about the kind of athletic program that we will run when faced with a critical issue. Our mission and values are clear and, therefore, we can make effective decisions.
Athletic Vision & Priorities
• Inspire Leadership and Spiritual Growth: We are committed to the academic and personal development of all student-athletes. It is of the highest priority to exhibit academic excellence in the program, graduate all student-athletes and prepare them for future learning and career opportunities.
• Pursue Competitive Success: RCA Athletics endeavors to be the very best when representing RCA in athletic competition. We are committed to providing the necessary resources and personnel support to achieve future success.
• Bear the Mark of Integrity: It is imperative that athletics demonstrates integrity in all areas of its operation. We are dedicated to overall financial stability, rules compliance and diversity as it reflects the image of RCA.
• Value to RCA and Community: RCA Athletics provides significant value to the school and community. Future planning efforts for the athletic department will ardently support the schools mission, vision and future objectives.
As we stay with the TSSAA Division II we must remember that RCA Athletics for over 40 years has served as an integral part of the school and our community. This rich heritage has impacted countless students, faculty, staff and fans. We must embrace our successes and failures during this time as we move forward. Times to make a difference in life are few, and a unique window for athletics to positively impact RCA is open. Our approach will not only impact RCA Athletics, but our school forever.
As we plan for the future, we ask you to join us in the challenging task of Biblically redefining success at RCA. Only then will we be in a position to accomplish the mission and demonstrate that sports have a higher purpose at RCA.
