RCA Graduation Requirements


STUDENT CLASSIFICATION


 SENIOR: Must have earned 17 Carnegie Units (UPP) 14 (Technical)
 JUNIOR: Has earned at least 11 Carnegie Units
 SOPHMORE: Has earned at least 5 Carnegie Units
 FRESHMAN: Promoted from eighth grade
 

GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS


 English 4 credits
 Mathematics
 3 credits (Including Algebra 1/Algebra 2/Geometry)
 Science 
 3 credits (Including Biology and One lab based science)
 Social Studies 3 credits (Including World Geography, World History, U.S. History, Government/Economics)
 PE/Wellness 1 credit
 Computer 
 1 credit
 Bible 1 credit
 Foreign Language 2 credits
 Fine Art
 1 credit (Drama/Art/Speech)
 Electives 
 4 credits (excluded from technical path)


 

Seniors will be required to be in a math & science course (as scheduling permits)

                 *Students are encouraged to arrange a meeting with the Guidance Counselor as they progress. 

RCA has two basic graduation programs; the University Preparatory Program and Non-University/Community College/Technical Program. It is strongly recommended that students choose the University Preparatory Program.

A total of twenty-four (24) credits must be earned to successfully complete the University Preparatory Program.

A total of twenty (20) credits may be earned for the Non-University/Community College/Technical Program.


Correspondence Courses

A maximum of two units may be added by correspondence courses for grades nine through twelve with permission from administration.


Valedictorian and Salutatorian

The Valedictorian and Salutatorian of the senior class are decided by having the two highest numerical averages in the class. They must have been enrolled in RCA for their entire junior and senior years.
 

Mr. and Miss Rossville

Participants must have attended RCA continuously from the beginning of their junior year and must have a “C” average or above with a conduct of “S” or above.

 

EARLY COLLEGE ADMISSIONS

A qualified student enrolled in the 11th of 12th grades may enroll in college level courses that are conducted at times other than the regular school day at an institution of higher education. The student may receive high school credit for participating in such courses in accordance with the policy of RCA. This must be approved by the administration.

Graduation Statistics

During the last ten-year span, approximately 70% of graduates of RCA have attended colleges and universities. RCA is proud of the accomplishments of its graduates.
