Middle and High School Math Teacher Position at Rossville Christian Academy
Rossville Christian Academy, located approximately 15 minutes from Collierville, TN, is currently seeking one middle/high school math teacher to begin August 2019.
Classes include 7th grade pre-algebra, Algebra I, Algebra II, geometry, Senior math, pre-calculus, and calculus (could be AP or dual-enrollment). Depending on qualifications/experience, the teacher will divide the classes.
The qualified applicant will be able to teach multiple levels of math and must be mission-driven, agreeing with RCA's statement of faith and will need to create a safe, nurturing, and challenging learning environment for students with varying abilities and be willing to uphold and enforce the school’s policies and procedures. Additionally, the fulfillment of the following duties is expected of an RCA teacher:
Prepare a variety of written materials including weekly lesson plans, assessments, grades, parent correspondence, behavior records, etc.
Tutor students before and after school as needed
Sponsor a club or honor society
Monitor, manage, and report (when necessary) student behavior in the classroom, cafeteria, hallways, school grounds, etc.
Build rapport with students to ensure the classroom is a welcoming space in which students are encouraged to ask questions and dialogue with teacher
Implement Learning Plan, with the assistance of the Learning Specialist, for students with learning differences
Attend faculty meetings and participate in professional development
The successful applicant will possess a high level of professionalism, a positive attitude, a "team-first" mentality, and the ability to communicate positively and constructively with parents. The ability to collaborate with colleagues for the purpose of curriculum development and student success is essential. Excitement to integrate technology into instruction and learning opportunities for students is helpful. A college degree in math, education, or other related field is required. Teaching certification or master's degree is preferred, but not required.
