Hailey Haynes graduated from Harding University in 2018 with a K-6 Elementary Education and K-12 Special Education Degree. She taught Kindergarten at RCA in the 2018-2019 school year and is now the Learning Differences Specialist for the FLEX program. She was born and raised in Memphis, TN and goes to Germantown Church of Christ. Hailey's favorite quote is "Everybody can learn, just not on the same day, or in the same way." -George Evans.

Tana Honeycutt

5th Grade Teacher

Ms. Honeycutt has a Bachelor’s degree in education from The University of Tennessee at Martin. She is also certified to teach gifted students in the state of Tennessee in grades kindergarten through twelfth grades. She earned a Master's degree from The University of Memphis in Administration and Supervision. In fifth grade, she teaches Bible, science, social studies, vocabulary, and math. Ms. Honeycutt also teaches sixth grade science and social studies. She has a daughter that graduated from Rossville Christian Academy that is now attending college.


Kendall Hunter

7th Bible, 7th Grade English, Wellness; Assistant Football

Kendall is a graduate of Delta State University. There, he earned a Bachelor's Degree in Biology while playing offensive line for the Fighting Orka for five years. Kendall teaches Health & Wellness, 7th grade Bible, and 7th grade English in his second year at RCA. He is the Assistant Head Football Coach and Offensive Coordinator for the Mighty Rossville Wolves. Kendall is a proud husband and father who values the mental strength of our students today. His favorite verse is John 15:15, "I no longer call you servants; instead, I call you friend."


Kimberly Kochan

HS History/Govt./Econ.

Kimberly Kochan has been a teacher and senior sponsor at RCA for 18 years. She specializes in History, Government, Economics, and AP. She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Secondary Education History and Government. She and her husband Michael have two girls who attend RCA. They are members of Hickory Withe First Baptist Church where she teaches the 4 year old class. One of her favorite Bible verses is Romans 12: 3-8, "According to the grace given to us, we have different gifts: If prophecy, use it according to the proportion of one's faith, if service, use it in service; if teaching, in teaching." Besides teaching, some of her favorite things to do is crochet, travel and cooking.


Sabrina Lawson


Brie Lawson was born and raised in CA. At the University of Arizona, she received her Bachelors of Science in Renewable Natural Resources majoring in Wildlife Sciences. After marrying her high school sweetheart and becoming a mother of two amazing kids, they moved to Mississippi in 2010. In 2012 Brie started her teaching career and is very blessed with what God has done for her. She came to RCA in 2017 as a math teacher. Brie is now teaching Anatomy and Physiology, Biology, and Chemistry at RCA. With God’s hand, Brie brings science to life for students and pushes hands-on learning.

Ralph Norwood

Ralph Norwood graduated Christian Brothers University with a degree in Humanities with minors in English and Fine Arts. He has over 23 years of classroom experience as an instructor in English, art, history, and drama for Memphis City Schools, Shelby County Schools, and RCA. He spent five years travelling the county as a consultant for an educational support corporation. Mr. Norwood has worn many hats at Rossville Christian Academy as English and art teacher, drama coach, and yearbook sponsor. He has been married for over thirty years to his wonderful wife, who is also a school teacher.

Cara Russell

Senior Kindergarten Teacher 

Cara Russell is a kindergarten teacher at RCA. During her teaching career she has taught various grade levels ranging from Pre-K - 4th grade in several different states. Her true passion is kindergarten. Mrs. Russell grew up in Dearborn, Michigan. She attended Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, Michigan where she majored in Elementary Education. There Mrs. Russell received a Bachelor of Science in Education with a minor in Early Childhood. Mrs. Russell believes that all children are capable of GREAT things and it is her job to help guide them and make them realize it!

Sara Russell

1st Grade Teacher

Sara Russell joined the RCA staff in 2015. She has been teaching 1st grade for 19 years. Mrs. Russell holds a bachelor in Early Childhood Education from the University of Memphis. She loves reading and tries to instill that life long love of reading to her students. She is married and has two children who also attend RCA. Mrs. Russell attends Collierville United Methodist Church where she is actively involved in Stephen Ministry and youth group.
She is thankful to teach at a school where they put God first. "May the words of my mouth and the meditations of my heart be pleasing in your sight, Lord, my rock and my Redeemer." Psalm 19:14

Carol Schoenrock

Junior Kindergarten Teacher

Mrs. Carol is the Junior Kindergarten teacher. This is her third year at RCA. She received a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Tennessee Tech Univ and has been teaching preschool for 28 years. Carol has been married to her husband Daron for 31 years and they have two sons Erik and Bret, and also the best dog on Earth named Scout. Carol loves shopping, sitting on the beach, and all sports but especially baseball. Carol loves working with 4 & 5 year olds and believes that each child has been sent to be in her class by the Lord for a purpose, and strives to discover each child’s unique story and prepare that child for Senior Kindergarten and for life.

Kelly Sheffield

Physics/Phy. Science/7th Science/STEM

Mrs. Sheffield comes to RCA with a Bachelors of Science in Education and an Associates Degree in Architecture Engineering Technology. She has been married to her high school sweetheart for almost 30 years and has two wonderful children. Her passion for science is taken past the classroom to include working towards her 2nd Degree Black Belt in ATA martial arts and owning a fully operational equine facility that supports her and her family’s love of horses. In the classroom the love of science is taught using real-world applications as students strive for a strong Christian based understand of the world around them. Currently she teaches 7th grade science, physical science, and high school STEM.


Joy Sprague

6th Grade Teacher

Mrs. Joy Sprague began teaching at RCA in 2007. She teaches sixth grade Bible, English, math, reading, and vocabulary. She also teaches fifth grade English and reading. Mrs. Sprague has a Master's Degree in education and has taught elementary school for twenty-eight years.

Meshell Williams

Elementary Art, Computer, and Spanish

Meshell Williams has been teaching at RCA since 2003. She began teaching preschool, then second grade, and currently is teaching Elementary art, computer, and Spanish. Meshell earned her Bachelors of Science in Early Childhood Education from the University of Memphis. She likes to read and hang out with her dachshund. Meshell attends church at Kirk Baptist Church, where she is in the choir and enjoys participating in summer mission trips.
